Postdoctoral Scientist
Starting Salary £27,183 to £29,885 per annum
Band Salary £26,282 to £31,686 per annum
Applications are invited for a post-doctoral scientist in the group of Dr Anne Bertolotti to work on an ongoing programme aimed at identifying new pathways to rescue cells from protein misfolding stress (Tsaytler et al., 2011, /Science/, 332, 91-4; Suraweera et al. /Mol Cell/, 2012.
The project consists in characterizing a novel class of proteins that modulate proteasome function, both in yeast and in mammalian cells.
Candidates should have a PhD in a molecular biology/biochemistry/or due to complete doctoral studies within 3 months of applying. A first author publication in a high impact journal is mandatory. An interest in protein misfolding and proteasome function/dysfunction is desirable.

The successful candidate will be awarded an MRC Career Development Fellowship, a two year training and development position for a postdoctoral scientist who has recently completed doctoral studies or is moving into a new research discipline.
