A postdoctoral position is available at New York University Langone Medical Center (NYULMC) to study the role of CRAC calcium channels in immunity. The lab investigates how calcium signals regulate adaptive and innate immune responses to infection with viral and bacterial pathogens. Another area of research is the role of calcium signaling pathways in the function of T cell subsets in the context of inflammation/autoimmunity. Experimental research systems focus on the use of gene-targeted mice to study the role of various calcium channel genes (ORAI, STIM) in immune responses.
Requirements: Highly motivated PhD, MD/PhD or MD with a strong background in immunology, especially T cell mediated immunity to infection and autoimmunity. Experience in experimental models of immunity to infection in mouse models and the cellular and molecular analysis of immune function is required. Experience using conditional knockout mice is preferred.
The Feske lab is part of a vibrant Immunology community, the Experimental Pathology Program and Cancer Institute at NYU Medical Center. It is located in the Smilow Research Center on the NYULMC main campus located in midtown Manhattan.
