Project: Acute Myeloid Preleukaemia and Leukaemia in Human Down Syndrome
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Postdoctoral Scientist to join the research group of Professor Paresh Vyas located within the MRC Molecular Haematology Unit (MHU). This is a 3-year position funded by Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.
The laboratory is located in the excellent environment of the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine, University of Oxford, which has outstanding state-of-the art core facilities including flow cytometry, genomic cores, bioinformatics and The Wolfson Imaging laboratory. A PhD in haemopoiesis, leukaemia, normal and cancer stem cell biology is essential. Previous experience in molecular biology (especially PCR, sub-cloning, analysis of RNA and protein), protein biochemistry and tissue culture are also essential. Experience in lentiviral infections and use of ChiP-Seq, RNA-Seq and siRNA is highly advantageous. Development of novel and modern techniques and skill sets within the group is encouraged and therefore applicants must be able to demonstrate a high level of competence in laboratory skills.
