The Lund group is an international and dynamic research group comprising several postdocs, PhD students and Masters students.
Research in the Lund group currently has several focuses including: function and regulation of microRNAs in disease; long non-coding RNA in cancer; epigenetics and the cell cycle; functional characterization of PRDM family members.

Area of Research
We have identified a novel tumor suppressor. Using a knockout mouse strain we have demonstrated a tumor suppressor function for this gene in B-cell lymphomagenesis and have confirmed the loss of expression in corresponding human tumors. In this project we wish to perform a biochemical characterization of the protein and associated protein complexes to identify relevant cellular pathways affected by its loss of expression.
Qualifications
We expect you to be a highly motivated and interacting person and possessing the following qualifications:
• A PhD in Life Sciences.
• A strong background in biochemistry and the functional analysis of protein complexes.
• A broad experience in molecular and cellular biology as well as previous practical experience in a wide range of modern molecular and biochemical techniques.
• Experience in mouse models and/or bioinformatics is considered a significant advantage.
• Importantly, the candidate must be able to plan and execute the research independently.
• Excellent English skills.
Place of employment
The employment is at BRIC, University of Copenhagen. BRIC is located in the Biocenter, close to the centre of Copenhagen. We offer creative and stimulating working conditions in a young, dynamic and international research environment. Our research facilities include modern laboratories and a number of core facilities shared between the 20 research groups at BRIC and the neighbor Finsen laboratory. We have weekly journal clubs, data clubs, seminars with invited speakers, young researchers club ASAP and our own PhD programme, MoMeD.
Terms of salary and employment
The appointment is initially for 2 years and is scheduled to start late 2013. Salary, pension and terms of employment will be in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Academics Central organization. Currently, the monthly salary starts around 31.821 DKK/ca. 4.250 Euro plus 17,1% in pension. Depending on qualifications, a higher salary may be negotiated. Non-Danish and Danish applicants may be eligible for tax reductions, if they hold a PhD degree and have not lived in Denmark the last 10 years.
