The University of Liverpool is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry with research interests in Materials Chemistry and Nanomedicine. This position is associated with a new cross faculty initiative in nanomedicine between the Faculties of Science and Engineering, and Health and Life Sciences. Nanomedicine is an emerging discipline and this initiative will link to state-of-the-art infrastructure at Liverpool that includes the Centre for Materials Discovery, Radiomaterials Chemistry Laboratory, Centre for Personalised Medicine and the Centre for Drug Safety Science. You will work closely with Pharmacologists, Clinicians and other Materials Chemists to develop fundamental understanding of nanomedicine and translate candidates through early evaluation and on to the clinic. This post will involve integration into the management team of the Radiomaterials Chemistry Laboratory and supporting future nanomedicine teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Pharmacology and Chemistry.
The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable track record in Materials Chemistry, an excellent research background that will complement and enhance the existing strengths at Liverpool and a working knowledge of research with long half-life radioisotopes. A clear motivation to advance the UK portfolio of nanomedicine research is essential. You will be an investigator of outstanding potential and a PhD (or equivalent) and relevant postdoctoral training. Candidates from the Industry will also be considered.
