Major/Essential Duties of Job

Study interaction between inflammation and metabolism in relation to obesity-associated metabolic diseases including insulin resistance, fatty liver disease, and atherosclerosis. Maintain laboratory equipment and order laboratory supplies. Present research data for publication and presentation. Assist in grant writing.

Occasional Duties

Other job related duties as assigned.

Required Education:
PhD or MD in Nutrition, Biology, Biochemistry, or related discipline.

Preferred Education:
Required Experience:
Research experience in at least one of the following fields: adipose biology, metabolism, immunology, integrative physiology, or vascular biology.

Preferred Experience:
Experience in murine physiology and animal handling his highly desired.

Preferred licenses, certifications, or registrations:
Required special knowledge, abilities, and skills:
Familiarity with appropriate laboratory, and/or technical equipment. Ability to effectively utilize a computer and applicable software to create databases, perform statistical analyses, present data and perform other computer related tasks as directed by the supervisor. Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others.
