We are looking for a postdoctoral fellow to join our group in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics at UCLA(http://www.mimg.ucla.edu/faculty/xing/). The long-term goal of our research is to elucidate how genomic and environmental variation of RNA regulatory networks impacts phenotypic traits and diseases. We are a hybrid computational and experimental lab. We develop computational and statistical methods for analysis of transcriptome regulation and post-transcriptional RNA regulatory networks. We integrate computational studies with high-throughput and experimental research to systematically investigate the variation and dynamics of RNA regulatory networks between species, within human populations, and in response to developmental and disease signals.
The postdoctoral fellow will develop computational and statistical methods to study post-transcriptional RNAprocessing and modifications using deep RNA sequencing and related genomic technologies, and apply these tools to elucidate RNA regulatory networks in development, disease, and evolution. We are looking for candidates with a strong track record in bioinformatics, statistical genomics, or related fields. The successful candidate will have ample opportunities to interact with world-class collaborators in the fields of statistics, biomedical sciences, and RNA biology.
