Summary of Essential Job Duties: Candidate will be involved clinical research studies under the supervision of Dr. Raj Makkar and will work with members of the Interventional Cardiology research team as an integral member.
Obtain exposure to pre-clinical and clinical research in structural heart disease by reviewing data from studies conducted using innovative techniques and treatment modalities in structural heart disease; study the safety and effectiveness endpoint outcomes of various
protocols
Candidate will interact with other research personnel, fellows, lab techs, etc. to understand the research program. Candidate will develop research findings based on study data and will have the opportunity to present at local and national meetings when appropriate;
Candidate will assist the PI with manuscript development and publication.
Qualification Requirements/Preferences:
Education Certifications/Licensure Experience Physical Abilities
Educational Requirements:
Candidate should have MD degree in medicine/biology, with specialization in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology preferred; or equivalent experience.
License/Certification/Registration Requirements:
MD, PhD or M Sc
Experience:
Experience in the technology and application of innovative devices in structural heart disease; some experience in research, knowledge of laboratory methods; computer and software skills with application to medical research.
Physical Demands:
Stand to perform studies; sit at computer station.
