Applications are invited to join a research program on “Catalyst Development and Testing” in the Department of Chemical Engineering, Imperial College London, under the supervision of Dr Marcos Millan. This postdoctoral position will focus on research on the synthesis, characterisation and testing of catalytic materials for high temperature energy applications. The laboratory work will consist on the development and operation of a high temperature facility for the testing of heterogeneous catalysts and membrane materials and their analysis by a range of solid characterisation techniques.
The suitable candidate will have a PhD (or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or a closely related discipline. You must be motivated, independent and hard-working with a strong research/technical background in the area of heterogeneous catalysis. Experience is required in the design and operation of high-temperature reactors as well as in the characterisation of solids by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, thermogravimetric analysis and specific surface area. Experience in high pressure reactors is desirable. Peer reviewed publications in the field are a requirement.
