Background: Our research is carried out at the BESIII facility in Beijing, China and the foreseen PANDA experiment at FAIR, Germany. The main physics interests of our group are studies of the production and decay of hyperons aiming at an understanding the strong interaction at low energies and searches for processes beyond the Standard Model. With BES III, our focus is hyperon structure by measurement of electromagnetic form factors. In PANDA we are involved in simulations of hyperon production in proton-antiproton annihilations.

Duties: This post doc is expected to participate in the running of the experiments abroad and take responsibility for simulations, analysis and interpretation of data. The appointment is a 100% research position.

Time period: The position has a duration of two (2) years, starting June 1st 2014 or according to agreement.

Qualifications: The candidate must have completed her/his doctoral studies in physics, preferably with an orientation towards experimental hadron physics. To be eligible for a position as postdoctoral researcher the applicant's Ph.D. degree must have been obtained no more than three (3) years prior to the application date; however, periods of e.g. parental leave are deducted from the three-year period.

The ranking of eligible applicants will be based primarily on research expertise. Experience in physics analysis and Monte Carlo simulations are required. Scientific merits and skills should be well documented.
