A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Division of Biotechnology Products Research and Review III , Center for Drug Evaluation and Research of the Food and Drug Administration. The Fellow will join a multi-disciplinary research program to understand the biochemical regulation of anticancer drug cytotoxicity in the context of excessive oxidative stress. The project will focus on how excessive oxidative stress can modify proteins and signal for autophagy. The goals are to identify biochemical mechanisms of chemoprotection and to develop protein biomarkers of chemotherapeutic outcomes. A Ph.D. or M.D. degree and experience in biochemistry and cellular biology are required. An excellent record of oral and written English skills is also required. Research experience in autophagy, apoptosis, and protein carbonylation are highly desirable. Direct experience with protein oxidation measurement, free radical measurement, mass spectrometry, confocal microscopy, and experience with cell line and tissue lysates is also preferred. The position is a non- FTE ORISE fellowship for one year and may be renewable. The salary will be commensurate with experience. The laboratory is located on the main campus of the Food and Drug Administration at White Oak, Silver Spring, MD.
