Postdoctoral Fellow- Microbial Metagenomics (BIO 15-0155)The West Virginia University Research Corporation (WVURC) seeks to hire a Postdoctoral Fellow- Microbial Metagenomics within the Department of Biology at West Virginia University. This position will support the microbial metagenomics laboratory by providing advanced expertise in molecular techniques, as well as organismal expertise, related to infectious disease pathogens associated with ticks. The incumbent will develop, in collaboration with the lab director, an independent direction of study to be completed within the three year time span of the position.
A PhD in biomedical sciences, genomics or a related field, with a focus on microbiology is required. Familiarity with working under Biosafety Level 2 and Arthropod Containment Guidelines 2 conditions or higher, as well as a valid driver’s license are also required. At least one first-authored publication in a peer-reviewed scientific journal and training in bioinformatics is preferred.
