The MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB) is one of the birthplaces of molecular biology and is an internationally renowned centre for fundamental biomedical research.

Following our move to a new laboratory in 2013, we are able to provide state-of-the-art facilities in which innovative medical research, translation and collaboration can flourish.
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Scientist position in the Centre for Chemical & Synthetic Biology. You will develop genetic code expansion approaches and/or apply these approaches with a focus on developing innovative strategies to discover next generation therapeutics.

Candidates should have a PhD in a biological or physical science (or due to complete your doctoral studies within 6 months of applying). You may have experience with recombinant protein expression in mammalian cells, experience in mammalian cell biology, directed evolution approaches, chemical biology or biochemistry.

Successful applicants will be awarded a 2 year Career Development Fellowship/MRC Postdoctoral Training Scheme. The fellowship is a Training and Development position for a Postdoctoral Scientist who has recently completed their doctoral studies, or is moving into a new research discipline.
