A postdoctoral position is available immediately for a recent PhD in the area of mouse developmental biology in the laboratory of Dr. Bernice Morrow. The goal of our lab is to understand the molecular genetic basis of structural birth defects connected to human 22q11.2 deletion syndrome. The lab uses mouse models and human genetics approaches to achieve this goal. Since our lab works with mouse models, specific expertise in working with mice is required. The main techniques we use are in situ hybridization of embryos, immunohistochemistry and tissue micro-dissection or embryo culture. Expertise in gene expression profiling or epigenomic studies such as chromatin immunoprecipitation would be of particular interest. Good communication skills and must be able to speak and read English. The laboratory is in a new building located on the main Einstein Campus, in the northeast part of the Bronx, NY, within a short 30 min commute to Manhattan or surrounding suburbs.
