The Retroviral Immunology Section seeks applicants for a postdoctoral fellowship to conduct innovative scientific research to find a cure for HIV infections. We have developed a new humanized mouse model to study HIV infections in vivo. This new model allows long-term studies with the ability to test therapeutics in the absence of graft versus host disease.
The selected candidate is expected to have a strong background in immunology and retrovirology and experience using mouse models. Experience with flow cytometry and cell sorting are also valuable assets for this position, as is a record of peer-reviewed publications. Candidates must hold a Ph.D., D.V.M, or M.D. Salary is based on experience using the NIH salary scale.
The section is located in the NIAID Rocky Mountain Laboratories (RML), which has state-of-the-art facilities including core facilities for genomics, electron microscopy, and flow cytometry. RML is located in the scenic Bitterroot Valley of western Montana within easy access to some of the finest outdoor recreational opportunities in North America.
