Postdoc in Single Cell Cancer Systems Biology : New York, NY, United States
A Postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Peter Sims at Columbia University Medical Center in the Dept. of Systems Biology. The position is fully funded by recently awarded grants from the National Cancer Institute. The Sims Lab develops new tools for systems biology, with a particular emphasis on genome- and transcriptome-wide analysis of individual cells. There are multiple projects available, particularly involving the use of single cell DNA- and RNA-Seq to investigate the molecular basis of drug resistance in cancer. We are located in the Lasker Biomedical Research Building, a newly renovated, highly collaborative, and interdisciplinary research environment on Columbia’s medical campus in New York City.
Candidates must be highly motivated Ph.D.-level scientists. Backgrounds in biology, chemistry, engineering, and/or physics are all welcome. Expertise or experience in next-generation sequencing, computational biology, bioinformatics, microscopy, and/or microfluidics is highly desirable.
