Summary Description:	The Department of Pathology and Cell Biology at the Columbia University Medical Center would like to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Scientist/Fellow to work in the laboratory of Dr. Clark. Dr Clark would like to appoint a highly motivated scientist to work on a project with a particular focus on addressing key questions regarding the underlying molecular mechanisms in neurodegenerative disease such as Essential Tremor. The candidate will specifically investigate new candidate genes that we have identified using large scale whole exome and whole genome sequencing in families. The successful candidate will work in a unique interdisciplinary research environment.
School/Institute/Unit:	Physicians and Surgeons, College of
Minimum Degree Required:	Ph.D. / M.D.
Minimum Qualifications: All applicants MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered for the position.	The ideal candidate should have a PhD degree in a field related to neuroscience, neurodegenerative disease or genetics and should be highly motivated and ambitious with a strong drive to excel in a highly international and collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications:	The successful candidate must have experience in molecular and cellular biology techniques. Previous experience in working with animal models (Drosophila or mouse) is preferable. The candidate is expected to be flexible and ready to develop and learn new skills. Excellent communication skills and fluency in both spoken and written English are essential.
