Duties and responsibilities
The Centre for Applied Autonomous Sensor Systems at Örebro University is looking for a post-doctoral researcher to work within the newly granted EU project Movecare. The task for the researcher is to contribute towards an automated reasoning system that is able to reason about heterogeneous information regarding elderly patients in the home. The objective is to reason about the current state of the elderly person as measured by a sensor network based on stored information about the person, medical conditions, and habits. We are seeking a post-doctoral researcher who is familiar with automated reasoning techniques, including but not limited toontology based reasoning. Familiarity with other types of reasoning methods that include temporal and/or spatial reasoning is a plus.
Eligibility
Eligible for the appointment as postdoctoral researcher are applicants holding a doctoral degree in Computer Science or in related subject areas. The doctoral degree should have been awarded no more than three years prior to the application deadline. Candidates who have obtained their doctoral degree prior to that may however also be considered if special grounds exist (leave of absence due to illness, parental leave, clinical duties, an elected position in a trade union, or other similar circumstances).
Assessment criteria
General assessment criteria include good interpersonal skills and an ability to cooperate as well as the ability and suitability otherwise required to perform the duties well. Experience working in EU projects is an added value. Proficiency in spoken and written English is necessary.
