A postdoctoral position in the laboratories of Dr. Anne Moscona, Departments of Pediatrics, Microbiology & Immunology, Physiology & Biophysics (http://www.microbiology.columbia.edu/faculty/moscona.html) and Dr. Hans-Willem Snoeck, Departments of Medicine, Microbiology & Immunology (www.snoecklabstemcells.org). The project is a collaborative project that focuses on modeling infection with human respiratory viruses in human lung organoids derived from pluripotent stem cells (Chen et al., Nat Cell Biol, 19:542-549). The goal of the studies is to probe virus-host interaction and pathogenesis in an authentic human model, understand determinants of viral fitness and transmissibility, and discover the impact of viral infection on lung development.
