Applications are invited for four Postdoctoral Research Assistants for the Quantum Materials Platform Grant. The post(s) are available for a fixed-term duration until 31 March 2020.
The successful candidates will contribute to create their own original research projects in Quantum Materials including (but not limited to): synthesis and crystal growth, structure/property relations, thin films and devices, advanced spectroscopy, domain engineering, properties under extreme conditions and in the ultra-fast regime. The successful candidates will carry out experiments on the suite of experimental platforms available to Quantum Materials, and, if appropriate, at large scale facilities. Related tasks will include collaborating on reports and journal articles, attending meetings and seminars to represent the group and developing ideas for generating research income and presenting research proposals to senior colleagues. The postholders will have the opportunity to teach.
Applicants should possess, or be close to completion of a doctorate in condensed matter physics or a related field and demonstrable experience relevant to quantum materials research. Previous experience at postdoctoral level would be an advantage.
