　　Job Description

　　The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine’s Center for Atrial Fibrillation invites postdoctoral applications for a 1-2 year research position. Ongoing NIH funded studies include mapping, imaging, and novel treatments for atrial fibrillation. We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate, with prior clinical research experience in cardiovascular disease being a plus. An ideal candidate is creative, dedicated, enjoys scientific discovery, and is able to work independently in a collaborative lab environment. The successful applicant will be expected to participate in all aspects of the research program, including experimental design, data collection and analysis, research presentations, and preparation of manuscripts. Prior achievement as demonstrated by publications/presentations is required and evidence for motivation and independence will be considered. Willingness to apply for additional fellowship grants is required. We value candidates who are interested in working as part of a team towards common goals, who have excellent communication skills and who are independent and enthusiastic about science.

　　Minimum Qualifications

　　This position requires a MD degree from a recognized accredited university (or foreign equivalent) and candidate must be eligible for an unrestricted Florida medical license. MD with completed training in internal medicine (training in cardiovascular disease is desirable, but not required). Outstanding written and oral communication skills.

　　A commitment to a career in cardiovascular science. Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data. Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems. Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
