　　The Dejana Vascular Lab at the department of Immunology, Genetics and Pathology, Uppsala University is seeking new postdoctoral associates. In our lab we study the cellular and molecular mechanisms responsible for the formation, remodeling, function and malfunction of the vascular system in the brain, specifically related to cerebral cavernous malformations (CCM) and tumor biology. Areas of interest include:

　　1. The vasculature of the central nervous system

　　2. Mechanisms of vascular malformations during disease

　　3. The blood brain barrier function during development and disease

　　The postdoc will work closely with other members of the laboratory to develop novel methods and tools such as molecular imaging, RNA sequencing and proteomics with the goal of clinical translation. Ability to work in a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment combined with strong communication and interpersonal skills are required. Experience in small animal models is required and microsurgery competence is preferred.

　　Desired qualifications:

　　Candidates with a PhD in vascular biology, molecular biology, research animals or bioengineering, or an MD with experience in molecular and vascular biology, imaging or related fields are encouraged to apply. The candidate should enjoy challenging tasks and putting pride in producing results and submitting reports in a timely manner.

　　Exceptional publication record.

　　Research experience with transgenic mouse models.

　　Practical knowledge in one or more of the following areas: vascular biology, research animals, primary cell isolations and tissue retrieval, fluorescence microscopy (light sheet, confocal microscopy, 2-photon microscopy, live imaging), gene expression analysis, bioinformatics, genomics, proteomics, cell culture, and biochemistry.
