　　The OSUCCC – James is the only cancer program in the United States that features a National Cancer Institute (NCI) designated comprehensive cancer center aligned with a nationally ranked academic medical center and a freestanding cancer hospital on the campus of one of the nation’s largest public universities.

　　Research Focus and Summary of Position:

　　Postdoctoral Researcher Position at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center and College of Medicine

　　Research Focus:

　　Dr. Deliang Guo’s laboratory focuses on EGFR/RTKs/PI3K/Akt/mTOR and Ras/MEK/ERK signaling, cancer metabolism, autophagy and miRNA. His lab was the first to identify EGFR/PI3K signaling upregulates SREBP-1, a membrane-bound transcription factor with a central role in lipid metabolism to control tumor growth (Guo, et al, PNAS, Science Signaling, 2009, Cancer Discovery 2011, Current Pharma Design 2014). Most recently, his lab further unraveled the underlying molecular mechanism linking EGFR/PI3K signaling and glucose to SREBP-1-regulated lipid metabolism. They found that glucose acting as an indispensable activator promotesSREBP signaling pathway via N-glycosylation modification on SCAP protein (Cheng et al., Cancer Cell, 2015). Moreover, they found lipid droplet and miRNA are actively involved in SREBPs regulation and lipid metabolism in malignancies (Geng, et al.,Clinical Cancer Research 2016, and Peng et al., Cell Reports 2016).

　　The long-term goal of Dr. Guo’s lab is to understand the underlying molecular mechanisms of how oncogenic signaling regulates metabolism reprogramming to promote tumor growth, and to identify the key molecular targets to treat malignancies. His lab is dedicated to translational research, assessing molecular alterations in cancer patient tissues and obtaining insights from bedside.

　　Dr. Guo is seeking highly self-motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join his excellent research team to work on tumor metabolism interlinked with oncogenic signaling projects at The Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute at The Ohio State University. Dr. Guo’s research is currently supported by NIH (R01), the American Cancer Society and OSUCCC funds. 　　Summary of Duties

　　Perform basic or applied research in tumor metabolism and oncogenic signaling pathway. Identify and select problems to be studied. Learn and use new techniques. Design research, perform experiments, collect and analyze data, writing manuscript.

　　Education/Experience

　　Doctoral Degree in Ph.D. required; proficient in molecular biology, biochemistry, cancer biology and mice work are required. Previous tumor metabolism/lipid metabolism experiences are highly considered.
