　　Postdoctoral Scholar - Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation

　　The Center for Orthopaedic Research and Translational Science (CORTS) in the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation along with the Heart and Vascular Institute is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Post-Doctoral Scholar. The laboratory focuses currently on mechanisms of peripheral nerve trauma, neuromuscular atrophy, and muscle function. Studies include in vivo and in vitro experiments in rodents. The candidate should have a background and or career interest in nerve and muscle regeneration. Studies require small animal surgery and various standard biological analyses. Candidates for this position should have an advanced degree (either MD or Ph.D.) in applied physiology, biochemistry, biology, engineering or related fields with expertise in both qualitative and quantitative analysis. Experience with functional testing of nerve regeneration and nerve conduction velocity with small animals is a plus. In addition to contributing to ongoing research projects, training in animal surgery techniques is available for outstanding candidates. Candidates should be independently motivated, creative, have a desire to learn new techniques and approaches. This position is open to recent graduates only (within two years of advanced degree).
